Damien Horne calls his new band The Farm a “10-year overnight success.”

The trio, which also consists of Nick Hoffman and Krista Marie, just wrote their first song together about two years but says for the individual musicians in the group, the recognition was a long time coming.

“It’s funny how quick things are happening,” Horne says. “But also, it’s all the time we put into this prior to that. We’re about excited where the record is at and where it’s headed. It’s fun all around.”

That first song “Home Sweet Home” is now a Top 20 hit at country radio.

Hoffman, who was Kenny Chesney’s long time fiddle player before joining trio, says that for them to have chemistry as artists, they had to bond. The members accomplished that during their first songwriting appointment when writing “Home Sweet Home.”

“We got together as songwriters and barely knew each other and we had to find common ground,” he says. “We started talking about where we come from and we’re all really really proud of where we come from. We decided to write a song about our homes.”

Fans can pick up “Home Sweet Home” on The Farm’s self-titled debut album, which is due in stores July 17.
